David Nadig
Senior Counsel
Willkie Farr & Gallagher

David joined the Chicago Debates board in 2013 while he served as general counsel for the property and casualty insurance businesses at Allstate Insurance Company, a long-time supporter of Chicago Debates.

He was elected board chair in 2016 and will retire from the board this year. David has been instrumental in establishing and maintaining the many connections Chicago Debates has today with the business and legal community. Although not a debater in high school or college, David always admired how debaters would quickly build evidence-based arguments in support of their positions, inspiring him to recruit them to write op/eds for the high school newspaper.

David would later test his own advocacy skills in law school, where he would earn a spot on the school’s national moot court team. After more than 36 years at Allstate, David retired in November and is now senior counsel at Willkie, Farr & Gallagher, coincidentally one of the law firms David introduced to Chicago Debates
