Mark your calendars for Make Room for Debate

On June 19, 2012, the Chicago Debate Commission will honor Tom Wilson, CEO of Allstate Corporation, with its inaugural Champion of Debate award at Make Room for Debate, a luncheon benefiting the Chicago Debate Commission.  Richard Godfrey (Partner, Kirkland & Ellis LLP) is generously serving as luncheon chair, along with Honorary Co-Chairs Jean-Claude Brizard (CEO, Chicago Public Schools) and Toni Preckwinkle (President, Cook County Board).

Tom Wilson, CEO of Allstate

Several years ago, Tom Wilson recognized the transformative impact of debate on urban students. With his leadership, Allstate made a major investment in the CDC – an investment that has paid off by dramatically improving the academic and life opportunities for thousands of Chicago students, especially those from the highest poverty schools. Mr. Wilson is truly deserving of the CDC’s inaugural Champion of Debate award.

The event will take place at the University Club of Chicago, and will include a panel discussion featuring top Chicago Debate League students.
