Spanish debate competition!
Por primera vez, Chicago Debates organizo su primer Torneo de Debate completamente en español. Creemos que el debate les da a los estudiantes una herramienta sólida para encontrar su voz, a través de la competencia, y ayuda descubrirse a sí mismos. Hemos visto cómo el debate cultiva estudiantes con conciencia cívica, formando una comunidad solidaria. En un momento de inestabilidades para muchos niños, esperamos que Debate en Español sea un hogar donde pueden prosperar.
For the first time ever, Chicago Debates created the first Spanish debate league – hosting our first tournament completely in Spanish! Through after school practice and debate competitions, we believe debate gives students the tools to find their voice and themselves. We have witnessed how debate unites different Spanish speaking communities and cultivates students’ civic engagement. At a time of instability for many children, we hope this league will be a safe space for Spanish speaking students to thrive.
