Finance & Administration Manager
At Chicago Debates, Hagar is considered the CEO of ensuring all needs are met related to finance and operations. Her areas of responsibility include accounting & finance, human resources, and administrative functions. In addition, she manages expenses and revenues, budget analysis and reporting, payroll/benefits, and provides organizational operational support.
Hagar has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northeastern Illinois University and a master’s degree in accounting from Keller Graduate School of Management. She knew early on that she had a knack for numbers and a passion for helping others. All eight years of her accounting/finance experience has been in the not-for-profit industry, working in social services and early childhood education. Prior to Hagar’s accounting career, she worked at Target for many years and loves serving others.
Hagar is most proud of the grant work she’s done, ensuring organizations spend funds according to grant narratives in time allotted. As well as her work supporting staff, helping management achieve their financial goals, and helping organizations improve efficiencies.
In her free time, Hagar loves reading inspirational books/materials, watching HGTV, exploring new workouts, and spending time with friends and family.
